| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Collin County lost an admired civic leader with |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | the passing of Dotty Ragley of Plano at the age of 87; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, In the 1980s, Dotty Ragley and her husband, W. G. |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | "Buddy" Ragley, became very active in the Republican Party; they |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | shared a profound dedication to conservative values and played a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | key role in the party's growth in Collin County; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Ragley was a longtime member of the Plano |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Republican Women, and she served as both an election judge and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | precinct chair; in 2005, she and her husband received the John |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | King McVeigh Award, the highest honor conferred by the Collin |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | County Republican Party; she was also a recipient of the Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Federation of Republican Women Top 10 Award; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Devoted to her family, Mrs. Ragley took great |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | pride in her daughter, Maribeth Ragley, and her granddaughter, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Emily; Mr. Ragley preceded her in death in 2006; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Dotty Ragley gave freely of her time and talents |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | to better her community, and she will be remembered with deep |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | admiration by all who were fortunate enough to know her; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Dotty Ragley and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, be |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | it further |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
