55 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
66 citizens of El Paso in mourning the loss of Victor "Trae" Apodaca
77 III, who died April 23, 2019, at the age of 55; and
88 WHEREAS, Born September 5, 1963, Trae Apodaca was an
99 esteemed member of the community, and he enriched the lives of
1010 all who knew him through his kind nature, his gentle spirit, and
1111 his sincere concern for others; and
1212 WHEREAS, Trae demonstrated a desire to help others while
1313 still a young man, and he took great joy in teaching his sister how
1414 to swim and drive a car; his thoughtfulness remained steadfast
1515 throughout his life, and he was noted for actively supporting his
1616 loved ones' professions, interests, and hobbies; and
1717 WHEREAS, Trae's true passion was in the hospitality
1818 business, and he enjoyed a long career as the owner of Café
1919 Central, a premier upscale restaurant in Downtown El Paso; he
2020 became a local icon of the restaurant industry, and he sold his
2121 establishment in 2009 after 18 years of running the business; he
2222 then entered the bail bond business as the owner and operator of
2323 Apodaca Bail Bonds; and
2424 WHEREAS, A loving and supportive family man, Trae shared a
2525 life of devotion with Shirlyn Apodaca, and he was blessed with
2626 three children, who enriched his life immeasurably; and
2727 WHEREAS, Trae Apodaca cherished time spent with friends
2828 and loved ones, and he was always there for them in times of need;
2929 he was known for his love of family, food, dogs, and good wine,
3030 and he will long be remembered with respect and admiration by all
3131 who were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
3232 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
3333 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
3434 family of Victor Apodaca III; and, be it further
3535 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3636 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
3737 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
3838 memory of Victor Apodaca III.
