| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Senate takes pleasure in paying tribute |

| 3 | 3 | | to one of its most valuable staff members, Tatum Reagan, by |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | naming her the 2019 legislative recipient of the Betty King |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Public Service Award; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of more than 16 years, Tatum |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Reagan has served the Senate with distinction as clerk of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | multiple committees, and most recently she has been of tremendous |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | assistance to the Business and Commerce Committee; in addition, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | she has been a mentor and friend to countless new clerks and other |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | employees and has readily shared with them her knowledge and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | experience; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Tatum has long been a treasured member of the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Senate family, and her loyalty, her exceptional work ethic, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | her dedication to public service have been an inspiration to all |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | who have had the good fortune of working with her; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, She is noted for her thorough knowledge of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | committee procedures and rules and for her insight and good |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | judgment, and she has been a significant asset to the committees |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | she has served; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Tatum has assisted the committee chairs in |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | setting their agendas, and she has deftly coordinated committee |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | activities and kept accurate records of all committee |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | proceedings; in addition, she has managed the committees' public |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | hearings with efficiency and a clear sense of the importance of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | citizen testimony; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, A role model for anyone aspiring to public |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | service, Tatum Reagan is known for her warmth, her generous |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | spirit, and her willingness to help others with whatever their |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | needs might be; her professionalism and her dedication to duty |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | truly represent the highest standards of the Texas Senate; now, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | therefore, be it |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 34 | 34 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincerest gratitude and appreciation |

| 35 | 35 | | to Tatum Reagan for her exceptional service and best wishes to her |

| 36 | 36 | | for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
