| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Pflour Shop in Pflugerville on the occasion of the |

| 4 | 4 | | bakery's grand opening on February 2, 2019; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Pflour Shop is being opened by April |

| 6 | 6 | | Hooker-Saldana, a native of Pflugerville and a 2002 graduate of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Le Cordon Bleu; she has been creating quality baked goods, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | including custom wedding cakes, for the last 20 years and was |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | formerly a pastry chef in Austin; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, April has strong roots in the Pflugerville |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | community; she is a graduate of Pflugerville High School, and her |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | father served as Pflugerville's chief of police; she and her |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | husband, Sam, cofounded a nonprofit youth sports league and are |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | volunteers for many other activities for young people; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, She decided the community could benefit from a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | bakery offering cookies, treats, and specialty party cakes in a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | welcoming space where people could create their own cherished |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | memories, and establishing the Pflour Shop is her dream come |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | true; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, It is indeed fitting that this exemplary new |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | business receive special recognition as it opens its doors to the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | public; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend April Hooker-Saldana on her |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | entrepreneurial spirit and extend to her wishes for success with |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | the Pflour Shop; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
