| 4 | 4 | | Association of Texas Professional Educators Day at the State |

|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Association of Texas Professional Educators |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | was founded to serve the needs of Texas teachers, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | paraprofessionals, administrators, and public education |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | employees; it is the largest independent educators' association |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in the United States and now has 100,000 members; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The association works diligently to protect the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | rights of educators across the state and strives to ensure that |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Texas schools are among the best in the nation; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Guided by tenets established by its board of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | directors, the association encourages its members to participate |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | in the political process and to serve as leaders in their |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | communities; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, By engaging educators in the legislative process, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the Association of Texas Professional Educators is working to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | improve our schools, and its efforts are making a positive |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | difference in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby honor the members of the Association of Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Professional Educators on the occasion of their visit to the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | continued success in their important work; and, be it further |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the |
