                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             March 20, 2021       TO: Honorable Victoria Neave, Chair, House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB1135 by Morales, Christina (Relating to the terms and conditions of a standard possession order in a suit affecting the parent-child relationship.), As Introduced     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Family Code to allow a child's managing conservator to surrender the child to the possessory conservator at the managing conservator's residence, under certain circumstances, if the child's school is closed. The bill would also require a conservator to immediately notify a school when a child will not be or has not been returned to the school unless that absence is due to school closure.Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
