The bill would amend the Government Code to require certain political subdivisions to post certain information on the internet. The bill would also require that the Special Purpose District (district) Public Information Database at the Comptroller's office include for every special purpose district the internet website address, if the district maintains an Internet website; or the internet website(s) used by the district to comply with Section 2051.153 of the Government Code and Section 26.18 of the Tax Code, if the district does not maintain an Internet website. The Comptroller's office and the Secretary of State indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
