                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             May 27, 2021       TO: Honorable Dade Phelan, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB1154 by Jetton (Relating to the requirements for meetings held and Internet websites developed by certain special purpose districts.), As Passed 2nd House     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Government Code to require certain political subdivisions to post certain information on the internet.  The bill would also require that the Special Purpose District (district) Public Information Database at the Comptroller's office include for every special purpose district the internet website address, if the district maintains an Internet website; or the internet website(s) used by the district to comply with Section 2051.153 of the Government Code and Section 26.18 of the Tax Code, if the district does not maintain an Internet website. The bill would also amend the Government and Water Codes as they relate to requirements for meetings held and Internet websites developed by certain special purposes districts. The Comptroller's office and the Secretary of State indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
