| 12 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 11 | SECTION 1. Chapter 315, Local Government Code, is amended | |
| 14 | 12 | by adding Section 315.007 to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 13 | Sec. 315.007. PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC AND CULTURALLY | |
| 16 | - | SIGNIFICANT BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES, OBJECTS, SITES, AND DISTRICTS | |
| 17 | - | IN CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES. (a) A municipality with a population of | |
| 18 | - | more than two million that does not exercise zoning authority under | |
| 19 | - | Chapter 211 may adopt and enforce an ordinance, order, or other | |
| 20 | - | regulation the primary purpose of which is to protect or maintain | |
| 21 | - | historic or culturally significant buildings, structures, objects, | |
| 22 | - | sites, and districts. | |
