9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 262.302(a), Family Code, is amended to | |
10 | 10 | read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (a) A designated emergency infant care provider shall, | |
12 | 12 | without a court order, take possession of a child who appears to be | |
13 | 13 | 90 [60] days old or younger if the child is voluntarily delivered to | |
14 | 14 | the provider by the child's parent and the parent did not express an | |
15 | 15 | intent to return for the child. | |
16 | 16 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
