| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 411, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 411.056 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 411.056. REPORTING ON POLICE OFFICER DISCIPLINARY |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | APPEAL HEARINGS. The department shall publish on the department's |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Internet website the information reported to the department under |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Section 180.008, Local Government Code. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | SECTION 2. Chapter 180, Local Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | by adding Section 180.008 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Sec. 180.008. ARBITRATOR REPORTING REGARDING CERTAIN |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | DISCIPLINARY APPEAL HEARINGS FOR POLICE OFFICERS. An arbitrator |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | selected to hear an appeal of the disciplinary suspension or |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | dismissal of a municipal police officer, deputy sheriff, deputy |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | constable, or other police officer, including an appeal under |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Section 143.057 or 143.1016 or under a collective bargaining, meet |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and confer, or other similar agreement, shall report to the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas, for each hearing |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | arbitrated by the arbitrator: |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (1) the ruling in the hearing; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (2) the date of the ruling; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (3) sources of the arbitrator's payment; and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (4) amounts paid to the police officer as a result of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | the ruling in the hearing. |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | SECTION 3. Section 180.008, Local Government Code, as added |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | by this Act, applies only to a disciplinary appeal that is initiated |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
