| 8 | 8 | | of study offered under a school district's career and technology |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | education program. |

| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 29, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 29.186 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 29.186. POSTING OF INFORMATION ON PROGRAMS OF STUDY. |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (a) Using information provided under Subsection (b), a school |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | district shall maintain on the district's Internet website the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | following information for each program of study offered under the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | district's career and technology education program: |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (1) labor market information relating to jobs to which |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the program of study is designed to lead, including: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (A) the growth rate of those jobs; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (B) the median annual salary for those jobs; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (C) any courses of study, degree requirements, or |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | other educational requirements necessary to obtain those jobs; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (2) the industry-based certifications that may be |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | obtained through the program of study. |

| 26 | 26 | | (b) The Texas Workforce Commission, with assistance from |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the agency, shall biennially produce and make available to each |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | school district the labor market information described by |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Subsection (a)(1) for each program of study offered under a |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | district's career and technology education program. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | (c) The commissioner may adopt rules as necessary to |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | implement this section. |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | of this Act, each school district shall comply with the |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | requirements under Section 29.186, Education Code, as added by this |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Act. |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
