96 relating to acceptable forms of identification for voting.
107 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
118 SECTION 1. Section 63.0101(a), Election Code, is amended to
129 read as follows:
1310 (a) The following documentation is an acceptable form of
1411 photo identification under this chapter:
1512 (1) a driver's license, election identification
1613 certificate, or personal identification card issued to the person
1714 by the Department of Public Safety that has not expired or that
1815 expired no earlier than four years before the date of presentation;
1916 (2) a United States military identification card that
2017 contains the person's photograph that has not expired or that
2118 expired no earlier than four years before the date of presentation;
2219 (3) a United States citizenship certificate issued to
2320 the person that contains the person's photograph;
2421 (4) a United States passport book or card issued to the
2522 person that has not expired or that expired no earlier than four
2623 years before the date of presentation; [or]
2724 (5) a license to carry a handgun issued to the person
2825 by the Department of Public Safety that has not expired or that
2926 expired no earlier than four years before the date of presentation;
3027 or
3128 (6) An identification card issued by a public
3229 institution of higher education located in this state that contains
33- the person's photograph and full legal name and that has not expired
34- or that expired no earlier than four years before the date of
35- presentation.

3633 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
