| 7 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Section 51.605, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 9 | 15 | | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | (d) A clerk may carry over from the current calendar year to |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | the following calendar year not more than 10 hours of completed |
|---|
| 12 | 18 | | continuing education courses that exceed the number of hours of |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | completed continuing education courses required under Subsection |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | (c). |

| 15 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 16 | 22 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 17 | 23 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 18 | 24 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |

| 19 | 25 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
