| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 56.002, Property Code, is amended to | |
| 11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 56.002. LIEN. A mineral contractor or subcontractor | |
| 13 | 13 | has a lien to secure payment for material, machinery, supplies, | |
| 14 | 14 | labor, or services related to the mineral activities. | |
| 15 | 15 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 16 | 16 | to the furnishing or hauling of material, machinery, or supplies on | |
| 17 | 17 | or after the effective date of this Act. The furnishing or hauling | |
| 18 | 18 | of material, machinery, or supplies before the effective date of | |
| 19 | 19 | this Act is governed by the law as it existed immediately before the | |
| 20 | 20 | effective date of this Act, and that law is continued in effect for | |
| 21 | 21 | that purpose. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
