| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 3100.101, Government Code, is amended to | |

| 11 | 11 | Sec. 3100.101. PLEDGE. The pledge of allegiance to the | |
| 12 | 12 | state flag is: "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, | |
| 13 | 13 | Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible. God bless Texas!" | |
| 14 | 14 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 15 | 15 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 16 | 16 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 17 | 17 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 18 | 18 | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
