| 5 | 13 | | relating to the issuance of Make-A-Wish specialty license plates. |

| 6 | 14 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 7 | 15 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 8 | 16 | | is amended by adding Section 504.675 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 9 | 17 | | Sec. 504.675. MAKE-A-WISH LICENSE PLATES. (a) The |
|---|
| 10 | 18 | | department shall issue specialty license plates that include the |
|---|
| 11 | 19 | | words "Make-A-Wish" and an image of the blue Make-A-Wish logo. The |
|---|
| 12 | 20 | | department shall design the plates in consultation with the Central |
|---|
| 13 | 21 | | and South Texas chapter of Make-A-Wish. |
|---|
| 14 | 22 | | (b) After deduction of the department's administrative |
|---|
| 15 | 23 | | costs, the remainder of the fee for issuance of the license plates |
|---|
| 16 | 24 | | shall be deposited to the credit of an account created by the |
|---|
| 17 | 25 | | comptroller in the manner provided by Section 504.6012(b). Money |
|---|
| 18 | 26 | | deposited to that account may be used only by the Health and Human |
|---|
| 19 | 27 | | Services Commission to make grants to a nonprofit organization that |
|---|
| 20 | 28 | | has a history of providing services to children diagnosed with a |
|---|
| 21 | 29 | | critical illness for the purpose of providing those services. |
|---|
| 22 | 30 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
