55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the criminal history record information requirement for
88 applicants for renewal of a license issued by the Texas State Board
99 of Public Accountancy.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy
1212 shall require each applicant for renewal of a license under
1313 Subchapter I, Chapter 901, Occupations Code, to first comply with
1414 the requirement of Section 901.169(a), Occupations Code, not later
1515 than September 1, 2022. Notwithstanding Sections 901.169(a)(2)(E)
1616 and 901.403(c), Occupations Code, an applicant for renewal of a
1717 license is not required to comply with Section 901.169(a),
1818 Occupations Code, until first required to by the board as provided
1919 by this Act.
2020 SECTION 2. Section 22(d), Chapter 181 (H.B. 1520), Acts of
2121 the 86th Legislature, Regular Session, 2019, is repealed.
2222 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2323 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2424 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2525 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2626 Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
