7 | 7 | | relating to the criminal history record information requirement for |

8 | 8 | | applicants for renewal of a license issued by the Texas State Board |

9 | 9 | | of Public Accountancy. |

10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy |
---|
12 | 12 | | shall require each applicant for renewal of a license under |
---|
13 | 13 | | Subchapter I, Chapter 901, Occupations Code, to first comply with |
---|
14 | 14 | | the requirement of Section 901.169(a), Occupations Code, not later |
---|
15 | 15 | | than September 1, 2022. Notwithstanding Sections 901.169(a)(2)(E) |
---|
16 | 16 | | and 901.403(c), Occupations Code, an applicant for renewal of a |
---|
17 | 17 | | license is not required to comply with Section 901.169(a), |
---|
18 | 18 | | Occupations Code, until first required to by the board as provided |
---|
19 | 19 | | by this Act. |

20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. Section 22(d), Chapter 181 (H.B. 1520), Acts of |
---|
21 | 21 | | the 86th Legislature, Regular Session, 2019, is repealed. |
---|
22 | 22 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
23 | 23 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
24 | 24 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
25 | 25 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
26 | 26 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
