| 8 | 8 | | applicants for renewal of a license issued by the Texas State Board |

| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | shall require each applicant for renewal of a license under |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Subchapter I, Chapter 901, Occupations Code, to first comply with |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the requirement of Section 901.169(a), Occupations Code, not later |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | than September 1, 2022. Notwithstanding Sections 901.169(a)(2)(E) |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and 901.403(c), Occupations Code, an applicant for renewal of a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | license is not required to comply with Section 901.169(a), |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Occupations Code, until first required to by the board as provided |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | by this Act. |

| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. Section 22(d), Chapter 181 (H.B. 1520), Acts of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the 86th Legislature, Regular Session, 2019, is repealed. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
