9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 48.111, Education Code, is amended to | |
11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 48.111. FAST AND HYPERSONIC GROWTH ALLOTMENT. (a) A | |
13 | 13 | school district in which the growth in student enrollment in the | |
14 | 14 | district over the preceding three school years is in the top | |
15 | 15 | quartile of student enrollment growth in school districts in the | |
16 | 16 | state for that period, as determined by the commissioner, is | |
17 | 17 | entitled to an annual allotment equal to the basic allotment | |
18 | 18 | multiplied by 0.04 for each student in average daily attendance. | |
19 | 19 | (b) Instead of the annual allotment under Subsection (a), a | |
20 | 20 | school district is entitled to an annual allotment equal to the | |
21 | 21 | basic allotment multiplied by 0.25 for each student in average | |
22 | 22 | daily attendance if the growth in student enrollment in the | |
23 | 23 | district between the school year immediately preceding the previous | |
24 | 24 | school year and the previous school year results in: | |
25 | 25 | (1) an increase in student enrollment of 500 or more | |
26 | 26 | students; and | |
27 | 27 | (2) a student enrollment growth rate equal to or | |
28 | 28 | greater than 15 percent. | |
29 | 29 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
