| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Title 7, Government Code, is amended by adding |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Chapter 793 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | CHAPTER 793. INTERGOVERNMENTAL SUPPORT AGREEMENTS |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 793.001. DEFINITION. In this chapter, "local |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | government" has the meaning assigned by Section 791.003. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Sec. 793.002. AUTHORITY TO ENTER AGREEMENT. In accordance |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | with the provisions that apply to an interlocal contract under |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Chapter 791, a local government may enter into an intergovernmental |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | support agreement with a branch of the armed forces of the United |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | States under the National Defense Authorization Act (10 U.S.C. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Section 2679) to provide installation-support services to a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | military installation located in this state. |

| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
