The bill would require the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to create a home visitation for newborn caregivers grant program and require reporting on performance, implementation and status of the program.The bill would require DFPS to seek and apply for any available federal and state money to assist in financing the grant program and would allow DFPS to solicit and accept gifts, grants, and donations to operate the grant program.Based on analysis of DFPS, it is assumed that the costs to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
