411 AN ACT
512 relating to the purchase of food and beverages by the Department of
613 Public Safety for certain persons.
714 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
815 SECTION 1. Section 411.0132, Government Code, is amended to
916 read as follows:
1017 Sec. 411.0132. USE OF FUNDS TO SUPPORT CERTAIN PERSONS
1118 [PEACE OFFICER TRAINING]. The department[, subject to director
1219 approval,] may use appropriated funds to purchase food and
1320 beverages for:
1421 (1) training functions required of peace officers of
1522 the department subject to director approval; and
1623 (2) a person who is:
1724 (A) activated to provide services in response to
1825 an emergency situation, incident, or disaster; and
1926 (B) unable to leave or required to remain at the
2027 person's assignment area due to the emergency situation, incident,
2128 or disaster.
2229 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2330 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2431 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2532 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2633 Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
