9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 62.202(b), Government Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (b) The district judge may draw a warrant on the jury fund or | |
13 | 13 | other appropriate fund of the county in which the civil case is | |
14 | 14 | tried to cover the cost of buying and transporting the meals to the | |
15 | 15 | jury room. The judge may spend a reasonable amount [Not more than | |
16 | 16 | $3] per meal [may be spent] for a juror serving on a jury in a civil | |
17 | 17 | case. | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
