66 AN ACT
77 relating to meals provided to jurors during deliberation of a civil
88 case in certain district courts.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 62.202(b), Government Code, is amended
1111 to read as follows:
1212 (b) The district judge may draw a warrant on the jury fund or
1313 other appropriate fund of the county in which the civil case is
1414 tried to cover the cost of buying and transporting the meals to the
1515 jury room. The judge may spend a reasonable amount [Not more than
1616 $3] per meal [may be spent] for a juror serving on a jury in a civil
1717 case.
1818 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
