| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 392, Local Government | |
| 12 | 12 | Code, is amended by adding Section 392.068 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 392.068. PRIORITY FOR DELIVERY OF ELECTRIC UTILITY | |
| 14 | 14 | SERVICES IN EMERGENCY. A municipal housing authority, in | |
| 15 | 15 | cooperation with the municipality in which the authority is located | |
| 16 | 16 | and with any electric utility, municipally owned utility, or | |
| 17 | 17 | electric cooperative that provides power to housing facilities | |
| 18 | 18 | operated by the authority, shall prioritize in an emergency the | |
| 19 | 19 | provision of electric utility services to each housing facility | |
| 20 | 20 | that is operated by the authority and that has residents that are | |
| 21 | 21 | elderly or disabled individuals. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
