This bill would amend the Government Code to require the clerk of a court issuing protective orders and magistrate's orders of emergency protection issued due to sexual assault or abuse, stalking, trafficking, or other harm to the applicant, to enter the application and order into the Protective Order Registry established by Texas Government Code Section 72.151. In addition, the bill would require the clerk to remove certain vacated orders from the Protective Order Registry and provides that the vacated order information would not be publicly accessible on the registry website.Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
