| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 31, Utilities Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 31.006 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 31.006. STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION WITH RAILROAD | |
| 14 | 14 | COMMISSION DURING EMERGENCY OR DISASTER. During a disaster | |
| 15 | 15 | declared by the president of the United States or the governor that | |
| 16 | 16 | results in a widespread power outage, the commission shall | |
| 17 | 17 | communicate with the Railroad Commission of Texas in order to | |
| 18 | 18 | strategically plan and implement a response to the emergency. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
