9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 392, Local Government | |
11 | 11 | Code, is amended by adding Section 392.068 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 392.068. PROGRAM FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN RESIDENT | |
13 | 13 | EXPENSES. A housing authority shall adopt a program that uses any | |
14 | 14 | available funds to reimburse residents of the authority's housing | |
15 | 15 | facilities for medication or medical equipment that was: | |
16 | 16 | (1) partially or fully paid for by or provided through | |
17 | 17 | a governmental assistance program, including Medicare or Medicaid; | |
18 | 18 | and | |
19 | 19 | (2) damaged or destroyed as the result of a disaster, | |
20 | 20 | including an extended power outage. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
