10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 2254.102(e), Government Code, is amended | |
12 | 12 | to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (e) This subchapter does not apply to a contract for legal | |
14 | 14 | services entered into under Section 6.30, Tax Code, Article | |
15 | 15 | 103.0031, Code of Criminal Procedure, Sections 11.38(b-1) and | |
16 | 16 | 61.36(b-1), Alcoholic Beverage Code, or Section 1201.027 of this | |
17 | 17 | code except that Sections 2254.1032, 2254.1034, 2254.1036, and | |
18 | 18 | 2254.1037 of this code do apply to the contract. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
20 | 20 | to a contract entered into on or after the effective date of this | |
21 | 21 | Act. A contract entered into before the effective date of this Act | |
22 | 22 | is governed by the law in effect immediately before the effective | |
23 | 23 | date of this Act, and that law is continued in effect for that | |
24 | 24 | purpose. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
