| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 25, Education Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 25.902 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 25.902. STUDENT IDENTIFICATION CARDS. A school | |
| 13 | 13 | district or open-enrollment charter school shall issue to each high | |
| 14 | 14 | school student enrolled in the district or school a student | |
| 15 | 15 | identification card that includes the student's: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) name; | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) photograph; and | |
| 18 | 18 | (3) date of birth. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2021-2022 | |
| 20 | 20 | school year. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 22 | 22 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 23 | 23 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 24 | 24 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 25 | 25 | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
