The fiscal impact would depend on the number and size of events covered under the bill. This bill would amend Sections 478.0001(3) and (7) of the Government Code to include certain events as eligible for funding under the Major Events Reimbursement Program. The bill would also amend statute to add certain organizations to the list of site selection organizations. According to the Office of the Governor, the fiscal impact of the bill to the state cannot be determined without information from the event organizers' application. This includes the market area, venue size, and attendee spending behavior.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
