| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 551.009(c), Health and Safety Code, is |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (c) The [local mental health authority shall contract with] |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Kerrville State Hospital shall [to] provide food service, laundry |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | service, maintenance service, utility service, and lawn care at no |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | cost to the local mental health authority operating a crisis |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | stabilization unit on the grounds of the Kerrville State Hospital |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | as provided by this section. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of this Act, the Kerrville State Hospital and a local mental health |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | authority operating a crisis stabilization unit on the grounds of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the hospital shall revise any contract involving the provision of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | services described by Section 551.009(c), Health and Safety Code, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | as amended by this Act, as necessary to comply with that provision |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | as amended. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
