| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 503, Occupations Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 503.3021 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 503.3021. ELIGIBILITY TO ACT AS SUPERVISOR IN CERTAIN | |
| 14 | 14 | COUNTIES. (a) This section applies only to a county with a | |
| 15 | 15 | population of less than 100,000 that is not adjacent to a county | |
| 16 | 16 | with a population of more than 100,000. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) The executive council shall allow a person licensed as a | |
| 18 | 18 | marriage and family therapist under Chapter 502 to act as a | |
| 19 | 19 | supervisor under this chapter in a county to which this section | |
| 20 | 20 | applies for purposes of supervising an applicant for any experience | |
| 21 | 21 | hours required by rules adopted under Section 503.302(a)(4), | |
| 22 | 22 | including any direct client counseling hours. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
