8 | 8 | Foundation School Program. | |
9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 48.106(a), Education Code, is amended to | |
11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (a) For each full-time equivalent student in average daily | |
13 | 13 | attendance in an approved career and technology education program | |
14 | 14 | in grades 7 through 12, a district is entitled to: | |
15 | 15 | (1) an annual allotment equal to the basic allotment, | |
16 | 16 | or, if applicable, the sum of the basic allotment and the allotment | |
17 | 17 | under Section 48.101 to which the district is entitled, multiplied | |
18 | 18 | by a weight of 1.35; and | |
19 | 19 | (2) $50 for each of the following in which the student | |
20 | 20 | is enrolled: | |
21 | 21 | (A) two or more advanced career and technology | |
22 | 22 | education classes for a total of three or more credits; | |
23 | 23 | (B) a campus designated as a P-TECH school under | |
24 | 24 | Section 29.556; or | |
25 | 25 | (C) a campus that is a member of the New Tech | |
26 | 26 | Network and that focuses on project-based learning and work-based | |
27 | 27 | education. | |
28 | 28 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
