77 relating to the women's health advisory committee.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 531, Government Code, is
1010 amended by adding Section 531.02221 to read as follows:
1111 Sec. 531.02221. WOMEN'S HEALTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE. (a)
1212 The executive commissioner shall establish a women's health
1313 advisory committee to provide recommendations to the commission on
1414 women's health programs, including programs previously
1515 consolidated by the commission.
1616 (b) The executive commissioner shall appoint members to the
1717 advisory committee and ensure that a majority of the members are
1818 health care providers who:
1919 (1) are participating in women's health programs of
2020 various sizes;
2121 (2) are located in separate geographic areas of this
2222 state; and
2323 (3) have experience in operating women's health
2424 programs.
2525 (c) The executive commissioner may appoint a member not
2626 described by Subsection (b) to the women's health advisory
2727 committee who represents the women's health industry and is
2828 knowledgeable on the best practices for women's health programs.
2929 (d) Section 2110.008, Government Code, does not apply to the
3030 advisory committee.
3131 (e) The executive commissioner shall establish the women's
3232 health advisory committee not later than October 15, 2021. This
3333 subsection expires September 1, 2022.
3434 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
