55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to personal contact information submitted by certain local
88 officials to the Texas Division of Emergency Management and local
99 health departments.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 418, Government Code, is
1212 amended by adding Section 418.059 to read as follows:
1313 Sec. 418.059. PERSONAL CONTACT INFORMATION REQUIRED. (a)
1414 Each city manager, mayor, county judge, and director of a
1515 municipality's or county's local health department shall submit to
1616 the division the person's contact information to be used during a
1717 declared state of disaster or in other times of public emergency.
1818 (b) Information submitted under this section is
1919 confidential and exempt from disclosure under Chapter 552.
2020 SECTION 2. Subchapter D, Chapter 121, Health and Safety
2121 Code, is amended by adding Section 121.035 to read as follows:
2222 Sec. 121.035. PERSONAL CONTACT INFORMATION REQUIRED. (a)
2323 Each city manager, mayor, and county judge shall submit to the local
2424 health department of the municipality or county, as applicable, in
2525 which the person serves as the city manager, mayor, or county judge,
2626 the person's contact information to be used during a declared state
2727 of disaster or in other times of public emergency.
2828 (b) Information submitted under this section is
2929 confidential and exempt from disclosure under Chapter 552,
3030 Government Code.
3131 SECTION 3. Not later than January 1, 2022, a person required
3232 to submit information under Section 418.059, Government Code, as
3333 added by this Act, or Section 121.035, Health and Safety Code, as
3434 added by this Act, shall submit the information as required by those
3535 sections.
3636 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
