| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, | |
| 11 | 11 | is amended by adding Section 225.190 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 225.190. HAZEL AND MARGIE THOMPSON MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. | |
| 13 | 13 | (a) The portion of State Highway 302 in Winkler County between its | |
| 14 | 14 | intersection with State Highway 115 and its intersection with | |
| 15 | 15 | County Road 202 is designated as the Hazel and Margie Thompson | |
| 16 | 16 | Memorial Highway. The designation is in addition to any other | |
| 17 | 17 | designation. | |
| 18 | 18 | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: | |
| 19 | 19 | (1) design and construct markers indicating the | |
| 20 | 20 | designation as the Hazel and Margie Thompson Memorial Highway and | |
| 21 | 21 | any other appropriate information; and | |
| 22 | 22 | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at | |
| 23 | 23 | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
