| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to make a statewide |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | reapportionment of the court of appeals districts into which this |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | state is divided under Section 6, Article V, Texas Constitution. |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 2. Sections 22.201(f), (g), and (m), Government |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Code, are amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (f) The Fifth Court of Appeals District is composed of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | counties of Collin, Dallas, Grayson, [Hunt,] Kaufman, and Rockwall. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (g) The Sixth Court of Appeals District is composed of the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | counties of Bowie, Camp, Cass, Delta, Fannin, Franklin, [Gregg,] |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Harrison, Hopkins, Hunt, Lamar, Marion, Morris, Panola, Red River, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | [Rusk,] Titus, Upshur, and Wood. |

| 20 | 20 | | (m) The Twelfth Court of Appeals District is composed of the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | counties of Anderson, Angelina, Cherokee, Gregg, Henderson, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Houston, Nacogdoches, Rains, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Smith, Trinity, and [Upshur,] Van Zandt[, and Wood]. |

| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 3. Cases and other matters pending before a court of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | appeals from a county that is transferred by this Act to another |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | court of appeals may be transferred as necessary to carry out the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | purpose of this Act and ensure the efficient administration of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | justice. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
