                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             May 10, 2021       TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on Jurisprudence     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB3394 by Metcalf (Relating to determining the incapacity of a guardian.), As Engrossed     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Estates Code to create a procedure for a court on its own motion or on complaint of an interested person to remove a guardian under certain circumstances.Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.  In addition, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
