                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             April 19, 2021       TO: Honorable James White, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB3413 by Murr (Relating to occupational drivers licenses and to the renewal of drivers licenses.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to occupational driver's licenses and to the renewal of driver's licenses could be absorbed using existing resources.This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing sanctions for criminal offenses would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.  Local Government ImpactAccording to the Justice of the Peace and Constables Association of Texas, no significant fiscal impact on justice courts is anticipated. Schleicher County reports that occupational licenses are rare in small counties and does not anticipate a significant fiscal impact on their county. The fiscal impact to other units of local governments is not anticipated to be significant.
