A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to expunging federal tax liens from county deed records.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 14.004, Property Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
(f) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter,
after a certificate of release or withdrawal of a federal tax lien
is filed, the filing officer may expunge all references to the lien,
including references to the release or the withdrawal of the lien.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
