| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 13.047, Election Code, is amended by | |
| 10 | 10 | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (c) Training developed under this section must be | |
| 12 | 12 | administered in person. | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 2. Section 13.048(c), Election Code, is amended to | |
| 14 | 14 | read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | (c) A county that has adopted the method under this section: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) shall administer the required examination to a | |
| 17 | 17 | potential volunteer deputy registrar at any time during the county | |
| 18 | 18 | voter registrar's regular business hours; and | |
| 19 | 19 | (2) is [not] required to hold in-person training | |
| 20 | 20 | sessions for potential volunteer deputy registrars. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
