44 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
55 AN ACT
66 relating to the salary reclassification of certain positions with
77 the Parks and Wildlife Department.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. (a) The classification officer in the office of
1010 the state auditor shall reclassify the following positions with the
1111 Parks and Wildlife Department under the Texas Position
1212 Classification Plan, 1961:
1313 (1) the position of State Park Police Officer Trainee
1414 (Cadet) shall be classified as a salary group C1 position;
1515 (2) the position of Probationary State Park Police
1616 Officer shall be classified as a salary group C2 position;
1717 (3) the positions of State Park Police Officer I, II,
1818 III, IV, V, and VI shall be classified as salary group C3 positions;
1919 (4) the position of Sergeant shall be classified as a
2020 salary group C4 position;
2121 (5) the position of Lieutenant shall be classified as
2222 a salary group C5 position;
2323 (6) the position of Captain shall be classified as a
2424 salary group C6 position;
2525 (7) the position of Assistant Commander shall be
2626 classified as a salary group C7 position; and
2727 (8) the position of Major State Park Police Officer
2828 shall be classified as a salary group C8 position.
2929 (b) The classification officer in the office of the state
3030 auditor shall change the occupational category of all class title
3131 state park police officers to law enforcement.
3232 SECTION 2. The changes made by the classification officer
3333 as required by Section 1 of this Act apply beginning in the state
3434 fiscal biennium beginning September 1, 2021.
3535 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3636 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3737 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3838 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3939 Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
