| 6 | 6 | | relating to the salary reclassification of certain positions with |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the Parks and Wildlife Department. |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. (a) The classification officer in the office of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the state auditor shall reclassify the following positions with the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Parks and Wildlife Department under the Texas Position |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Classification Plan, 1961: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (1) the position of State Park Police Officer Trainee |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (Cadet) shall be classified as a salary group C1 position; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (2) the position of Probationary State Park Police |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Officer shall be classified as a salary group C2 position; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (3) the positions of State Park Police Officer I, II, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | III, IV, V, and VI shall be classified as salary group C3 positions; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (4) the position of Sergeant shall be classified as a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | salary group C4 position; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (5) the position of Lieutenant shall be classified as |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | a salary group C5 position; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (6) the position of Captain shall be classified as a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | salary group C6 position; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (7) the position of Assistant Commander shall be |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | classified as a salary group C7 position; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (8) the position of Major State Park Police Officer |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | shall be classified as a salary group C8 position. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (b) The classification officer in the office of the state |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | auditor shall change the occupational category of all class title |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | state park police officers to law enforcement. |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | SECTION 2. The changes made by the classification officer |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | as required by Section 1 of this Act apply beginning in the state |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | fiscal biennium beginning September 1, 2021. |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
