A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the definition of bicycle.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 541.201(2), Transportation Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(2) "Bicycle" means a device that a person may ride and
that:
(A) is capable of being ridden solely using human
power; and
(B) either:
(i) has two tandem wheels at least one of
which is more than 14 inches in diameter; or
(ii) is generally recognized as a bicycle,
regardless of the number of wheels on the device.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
