810 of certain Texas military awards.
911 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1012 SECTION 1. Section 504.202(e-1), Transportation Code, is
1113 amended to read as follows:
1214 (e-1) Other than license plates issued under Subsection
1315 (h), license plates issued under this section may include, on
1416 request:
1517 (1) the emblem of the veteran's branch of service; or
1618 (2) one emblem from another license plate to which the
1719 person is entitled under Section 504.308, 504.309, 504.310(b),
1820 504.311, 504.312, 504.313, 504.3135, 504.314, 504.315, 504.316,
1921 504.3161, 504.318, 504.319, 504.320, 504.323, [as added by Chapter
2022 1085 (H.B. 3567), Acts of the 85th Legislature, Regular Session,
2123 2017, or] 504.325, 504.327, 504.328, 504.329, 504.330, 504.331,
2224 504.332, 504.333, 504.334, 504.335, 504.336, 504.337, 504.338,
2325 504.339, 504.340, 504.341, 504.342, 504.343, 504.344, 504.345,
2426 504.346, or 504.347.
2527 SECTION 2. Section 504.315, Transportation Code, is amended
2628 by adding Subsections (r), (s), (t), (u), (v), and (w) to read as
2729 follows:
2830 (r) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
2931 recipients of the Texas Legislative Medal of Honor. License plates
3032 issued under this subsection must include the Texas Legislative
3133 Medal of Honor emblem and must include the words "Texas Legislative
3234 Medal of Honor" at the bottom of each plate.
3335 (s) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
3436 recipients of the Lone Star Medal of Valor. License plates issued
3537 under this subsection must include the Lone Star Medal of Valor
3638 emblem and must include the words "Lone Star Medal of Valor" at the
3739 bottom of each plate.
3840 (t) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
3941 recipients of the Texas Purple Heart Medal. License plates issued
4042 under this subsection must include the Texas Purple Heart Medal
4143 emblem and must include the words "Texas Purple Heart Medal" at the
4244 bottom of each plate.
4345 (u) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
4446 recipients of the Lone Star Distinguished Service Medal. License
4547 plates issued under this subsection must include the Lone Star
4648 Distinguished Service Medal emblem and must include the words "Lone
4749 Star Distinguished Service Medal" at the bottom of each plate.
4850 (v) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
4951 recipients of the Texas Outstanding Service Medal. License plates
5052 issued under this subsection must include the Texas Outstanding
5153 Service Medal emblem and must include the words "Texas Outstanding
5254 Service Medal" at the bottom of each plate.
5355 (w) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
5456 recipients of the Texas Medal of Merit. License plates issued under
5557 this subsection must include the Texas Medal of Merit emblem and
5658 must include the words "Texas Medal of Merit" at the bottom of each
5759 plate.
5860 SECTION 3. Section 504.320, Transportation Code, is amended
5961 by adding Subsection (c-3) to read as follows:
6062 (c-3) The department shall issue specialty license plates
6163 for recipients of the Texas Combat Service Ribbon. License plates
6264 issued under this subsection must include the words "Texas Combat
6365 Service Ribbon" at the bottom of each plate.
6466 SECTION 4. Subchapter D, Chapter 504, Transportation Code,
6567 is amended by adding Sections 504.327, 504.328, 504.329, 504.330,
6668 504.331, 504.332, 504.333, 504.334, 504.335, 504.336, 504.337,
6769 504.338, 504.339, 504.340, 504.341, 504.342, 504.343, 504.344,
6870 504.345, 504.346, and 504.347 to read as follows:
6971 Sec. 504.327. FEDERAL SERVICE MEDAL. The department shall
7072 issue specialty license plates for recipients of the Federal
7173 Service Medal. The license plates must include:
7274 (1) the words "Federal Service Medal"; and
7375 (2) a depiction of the Federal Service Medal emblem.
7476 Sec. 504.328. TEXAS HUMANITARIAN SERVICE MEDAL. The
7577 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
7678 the Texas Humanitarian Service Medal. The license plates must
7779 include:
7880 (1) the words "Texas Humanitarian Service Medal"; and
7981 (2) a depiction of the Texas Humanitarian Service
8082 Medal emblem.
8183 Sec. 504.329. TEXAS HOMELAND DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL. The
8284 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
8385 the Texas Homeland Defense Service Medal. The license plates must
8486 include:
8587 (1) the words "Texas Homeland Defense Service Medal";
8688 and
8789 (2) a depiction of the Texas Homeland Defense Service
8890 Medal emblem.
8991 Sec. 504.330. TEXAS SUPERIOR SERVICE MEDAL. The department
9092 shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of the Texas
9193 Superior Service Medal who are members or former members of the
9294 Texas military forces, as defined by Section 437.001, Government
9395 Code. The license plates must include:
9496 (1) the words "Texas Superior Service Medal"; and
9597 (2) a depiction of the Texas Superior Service Medal
9698 emblem.
9799 Sec. 504.331. ADJUTANT GENERAL'S INDIVIDUAL AWARD. The
98100 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
99101 the Adjutant General's Individual Award. The license plates must
100102 include:
101103 (1) the words "Adjutant General's Individual Award";
102104 and
103105 (2) a depiction of the Adjutant General's Individual
104106 Award emblem.
105107 Sec. 504.332. COMMANDING GENERAL'S INDIVIDUAL AWARD. The
106108 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
107109 the Commanding General's Individual Award. The license plates must
108110 include:
109111 (1) the words "Commanding General's Individual Award";
110112 and
111113 (2) a depiction of the Commanding General's Individual
112114 Award emblem.
113115 Sec. 504.333. TEXAS STATE GUARD MERITORIOUS SERVICE RIBBON.
114116 The department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients
115117 of the Texas State Guard Meritorious Service Ribbon. The license
116118 plates must include:
117119 (1) the words "Texas State Guard Meritorious Service
118120 Ribbon"; and
119121 (2) a depiction of the Texas State Guard Meritorious
120122 Service Ribbon emblem.
121123 Sec. 504.334. TEXAS STATE GUARD RECRUITING RIBBON. The
122124 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
123125 the Texas State Guard Recruiting Ribbon. The license plates must
124126 include:
125127 (1) the words "Texas State Guard Recruiting Ribbon";
126128 and
127129 (2) a depiction of the Texas State Guard Recruiting
128130 Ribbon emblem.
129131 Sec. 504.335. TEXAS COLD WAR MEDAL. The department shall
130132 issue specialty license plates for recipients of the Texas Cold War
131133 Medal. The license plates must include:
132134 (1) the words "Texas Cold War Medal"; and
133135 (2) a depiction of the Texas Cold War Medal emblem.
134136 Sec. 504.336. TEXAS CAVALRY SERVICE MEDAL. The department
135137 shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of the Texas
136138 Cavalry Service Medal. The license plates must include:
137139 (1) the words "Texas Cavalry Service Medal"; and
138140 (2) a depiction of the Texas Cavalry Service Medal
139141 emblem.
140142 Sec. 504.337. TEXAS FAITHFUL SERVICE MEDAL. The department
141143 shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of the Texas
142144 Faithful Service Medal. The license plates must include:
143145 (1) the words "Texas Faithful Service Medal"; and
144146 (2) a depiction of the Texas Faithful Service Medal
145147 emblem.
146148 Sec. 504.338. TEXAS STATE GUARD SERVICE MEDAL. The
147149 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
148150 the Texas State Guard Service Medal. The license plates must
149151 include:
150152 (1) the words "Texas State Guard Service Medal"; and
151153 (2) a depiction of the Texas State Guard Service Medal
152154 emblem.
153155 Sec. 504.339. OFFICER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RIBBON. The
154156 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
155157 the Officer Professional Development Ribbon. The license plates
156158 must include:
157159 (1) the words "Officer Professional Development
158160 Ribbon"; and
159161 (2) a depiction of the Officer Professional
160162 Development Ribbon emblem.
161163 Sec. 504.340. NCO PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RIBBON. The
162164 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
163165 the NCO Professional Development Ribbon. The license plates must
164166 include:
165167 (1) the words "NCO Professional Development Ribbon";
166168 and
167169 (2) a depiction of the NCO Professional Development
168170 Ribbon emblem.
169171 Sec. 504.341. ENLISTED PERSONNEL BASIC TRAINING RIBBON.
170172 The department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients
171173 of the Enlisted Personnel Basic Training Ribbon. The license
172174 plates must include:
173175 (1) the words "Enlisted Personnel Basic Training
174176 Ribbon"; and
175177 (2) a depiction of the Enlisted Personnel Basic
176178 Training Ribbon emblem.
177179 Sec. 504.342. PHYSICAL FITNESS RIBBON. The department
178180 shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of the Physical
179181 Fitness Ribbon. The license plates must include:
180182 (1) the words "Physical Fitness Ribbon"; and
181183 (2) a depiction of the Physical Fitness Ribbon emblem.
182184 Sec. 504.343. TEXAS GOVERNOR'S UNIT CITATION. The
183185 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
184186 the Texas Governor's Unit Citation. The license plates must
185187 include:
186188 (1) the words "Texas Governor's Unit Citation"; and
187189 (2) a depiction of the Texas Governor's Unit Citation
188190 emblem.
189191 Sec. 504.344. MERITORIOUS UNIT AWARD. The department shall
190192 issue specialty license plates for recipients of the Meritorious
191193 Unit Award. The license plates must include:
192194 (1) the words "Meritorious Unit Award"; and
193195 (2) a depiction of the Meritorious Unit Award emblem.
194196 Sec. 504.345. ORGANIZATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD. The
195197 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
196198 the Organizational Excellence Award. The license plates must
197199 include:
198200 (1) the words "Organizational Excellence Award"; and
199201 (2) a depiction of the Organizational Excellence Award
200202 emblem.
201203 Sec. 504.346. TEXAS STATE GUARD ASSOCIATION RIBBON. The
202204 department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of
203205 the Texas State Guard Association Ribbon. The license plates
204206 issued under this subsection must include the words "Texas State
205207 Guard Association Ribbon" at the bottom of each plate.
206208 Sec. 504.347. STATE GUARD ASSOCIATION OF THE UNITED STATES
207209 CITATION AND RIBBONS. (a) The department shall issue specialty
208210 license plates for recipients of the State Guard Association of the
209211 United States Ribbon. The license plates issued under this
210212 subsection must include the words "State Guard Association of the
211213 United States Ribbon" at the bottom of each plate.
212214 (b) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
213215 recipients of the State Guard Association of the United States
214216 Superior Unit Citation. The license plates issued under this
215217 subsection must include the words "State Guard Association of the
216218 United States Superior Unit Citation" at the bottom of each plate.
217219 (c) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
218220 recipients of the State Guard Association of the United States
219221 Distinguished Service Ribbon. The license plates issued under this
220222 subsection must include the words "State Guard Association of the
221223 United States Distinguished Service Ribbon" at the bottom of each
222224 plate.
223225 (d) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
224226 recipients of the State Guard Association of the United States
225227 Meritorious Service Ribbon. The license plates issued under this
226228 subsection must include the words "State Guard Association of the
227229 United States Meritorious Service Ribbon" at the bottom of each
228230 plate.
229231 (e) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
230232 recipients of the State Guard Association of the United States
231233 Commendation Ribbon. The license plates issued under this
232234 subsection must include the words "State Guard Association of the
233235 United States Commendation Ribbon" at the bottom of each plate.
234236 (f) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
235237 recipients of the State Guard Association of the United States
236238 Achievement Ribbon. The license plates issued under this
237239 subsection must include the words "State Guard Association of the
238240 United States Achievement Ribbon" at the bottom of each plate.
239241 (g) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
240242 recipients of the State Guard Association of the United States
241243 Service Ribbon. The license plates issued under this subsection
242244 must include the words "State Guard Association of the United
243245 States Service Ribbon" at the bottom of each plate.
244246 SECTION 5. To the extent of any conflict, this Act prevails
245247 over another Act of the 87th Legislature, Regular Session, 2021,
246248 relating to nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted
247249 codes.
248250 SECTION 6. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
