| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 82.002, Election Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (c) The following do not constitute sufficient cause to | |
| 13 | 13 | entitle a voter to vote under Subsection (a): | |
| 14 | 14 | (1) a lack of transportation; | |
| 15 | 15 | (2) a sickness that does not otherwise prevent the | |
| 16 | 16 | voter from leaving the voter's residence; or | |
| 17 | 17 | (3) a requirement to appear at the voter's place of | |
| 18 | 18 | employment on election day. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
