| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 418.044, Government Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (c) The division, in collaboration with political | |
| 13 | 13 | subdivisions, emergency management agencies, and regional planning | |
| 14 | 14 | commissions created under Chapter 391, Local Government Code, shall | |
| 15 | 15 | ensure that local and interjurisdictional emergency management | |
| 16 | 16 | plans include provisions for emergency shelters in the event of a | |
| 17 | 17 | disaster that are suitable for cold weather events, wildfires, and | |
| 18 | 18 | floods. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
