| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 152.0601, Human Resources Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (g) The juvenile board of Crosby County and the juvenile |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | boards of one or more counties that are adjacent to or in close |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | proximity to Crosby County may agree to operate together with |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | respect to all matters, or with respect to certain matters |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | specified by the juvenile boards. Juvenile boards operating |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | together may appoint one fiscal officer to receive and disburse |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | funds for the boards. |

| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. Section 152.1581, Human Resources Code, is |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | amended by adding Subsection (i) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (i) The juvenile board of Lubbock County and the juvenile |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | boards of one or more counties that are adjacent to or in close |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | proximity to Lubbock County may agree to operate together with |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | respect to all matters, or with respect to certain matters |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | specified by the juvenile boards. Juvenile boards operating |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | together may appoint one fiscal officer to receive and disburse |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | funds for the boards. |

| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
