119 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1210 SECTION 1. Subtitle A, Title 4, Local Government Code, is
1311 amended by adding Chapter 109 to read as follows:
1412 CHAPTER 109. FEES CHARGED BY MUNICIPALITIES
1513 Sec. 109.001. RECORDS MANAGEMENT AND PRESERVATION FEE. (a)
16- Except as provided by Subsection (b), a municipality may collect a
17- records management and preservation fee not to exceed $1 for any
18- municipal authorization, permit, license, registration,
19- certification, filing, or other municipal action or approval.
20- (b) A municipality may not collect a records management and
21- preservation fee under this section from a certified
22- telecommunications provider subject to access line fees under
23- Chapter 283.
24- (c) The records management and preservation fee must be
