8	6		AN ACT
9	7		relating to the authority of a municipality to collect a records
10	8		management and preservation fee.
11	9		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
12	10		SECTION 1. Subtitle A, Title 4, Local Government Code, is
13	11		amended by adding Chapter 109 to read as follows:
14	12		CHAPTER 109. FEES CHARGED BY MUNICIPALITIES
15	13		Sec. 109.001. RECORDS MANAGEMENT AND PRESERVATION FEE. (a)
16		-	Except as provided by Subsection (b), a municipality may collect a
17		-	records management and preservation fee not to exceed $1 for any
18		-	municipal authorization, permit, license, registration,
19		-	certification, filing, or other municipal action or approval.
20		-	(b) A municipality may not collect a records management and
21		-	preservation fee under this section from a certified
22		-	telecommunications provider subject to access line fees under
23		-	Chapter 283.
24		-	(c) The records management and preservation fee must be
