| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 92.008, Property Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (a-1) If for any reason water service furnished to a tenant | |
| 13 | 13 | is interrupted, the landlord must promptly notify the utility | |
| 14 | 14 | company that is responsible for providing water service of the | |
| 15 | 15 | interruption in service, including a utility company operated by a | |
| 16 | 16 | political subdivision. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
