| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 38.254, Education Code, is amended by | |
| 10 | 10 | adding Subsection (b-1) and amending Subsection (d) to read as | |
| 11 | 11 | follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (b-1) In developing the agency's goals under Subsection | |
| 13 | 13 | (a)(4) or the agency's recommendations under Subsection (a)(6) for | |
| 14 | 14 | a year before 2026, the agency shall consult with the Collaborative | |
| 15 | 15 | Task Force on Public School Mental Health Services established | |
| 16 | 16 | under Section 38.302 in addition to the persons the agency is | |
| 17 | 17 | required to consult with under Subsection (b). This subsection | |
| 18 | 18 | expires December 1, 2025. | |
| 19 | 19 | (d) As soon as practicable after completing or revising the | |
| 20 | 20 | plan, the agency shall: | |
| 21 | 21 | (1) submit an electronic copy of the plan: | |
| 22 | 22 | (A) to the legislature; and | |
| 23 | 23 | (B) to the statewide behavioral health | |
| 24 | 24 | coordinating council established under Subchapter M-1, Chapter | |
| 25 | 25 | 531, Government Code; | |
| 26 | 26 | (2) post the plan on the agency's Internet website; and | |
| 27 | 27 | (3) hold public meetings in each regional education | |
| 28 | 28 | service center's region to present the statewide plan and shall | |
| 29 | 29 | provide an opportunity for public comment at each meeting. | |
| 30 | 30 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
